Assignment-Week 3, Aperture Priority Mode

I can tell I will need to practice this, but that it will be a technique I will want to use a great deal in the future. For this assignment, I was nervous to photograph my active children. With both of my lenses, despite the fact that they said they had higher apertures, I could only get them to F 5.0. I will have to work on this and figure it out. One of my lenses should have gone to F 3.5, and the other to F 4.0.

Assignment-Week 2, Manual Focus

Just getting started...had trouble getting inspired. These are antique reading primers...
Mama and Baby Bear on a bookshelf. I turned on the lights to focus, then turned them off and used the built in flash. I tried with lights on and no flash, lights on internal flash, external flash in the dark. Everything but this seemed too bright. I typically don't take this kind of photo, but it seemed like good practice for this particular assignment. I was focused on the red flower.
My dog, Roxy, is a far better listener than my children when it comes to sitting still and looking natural.
The midday moon was a beautiful subject, but I never felt like I "got" the shot. For this shot, I focused on the flowers in front of the rock. Here, I focused on the rock.
Again, I wanted THE clouds shot. This was the best I got.

Assignment-Week 1, Miscellaneous Pictures

My four year-old son Justice, and my ten year-old daughter Victoria, are clearly my favorite subjects. I am hoping to branch out and do fewer posed shots and take more candid and action shots.
